WHITNEY HOUSTON'S GREATEST HITS JUMPS TO ITUNES NUMBER ONE

The dearly departed Whitney Houston's 2000 greatest hits compilation has exploded on the iTunes chart, just hours after the news regarding the diva's untimely death.  The original CD contained slow jams including her signature smash, "I Will Always Love You" on one disc and dance remixes of her other popular hits (It's Not Right, But It's Okay, How Will I Know. plus many others) on the other disc.  New songs (at the time) included duets with George Michael, Enrique Iglesias and a singer who was heavily influenced by Whitney, Deborah Cox. If you don't own it already, download it now in tribute to Ms. Houston.

GLEE CAST BEATS ELVIS WITH MOST CHARTED BILLBOARD HOT 100 SINGLES EVER!

Those damn teenagers from Fox TV's hot show, "Glee", now have the most singles ever on the Billboard Hot 100 charts (with 113 entries) eclipsing Elvis Presley's old record of 108.  But, there should be an asterisk next to this new Glee record: most of Glee's singles debut and then drop off in the matter of a few weeks (based solely on ITunes sales and virtually no airplay), while Elvis' songs have longer chart longevity, (based on combined airplay and sales figures).  A somewhat bogus Glee record IMO.
