DANCING WITH THE STARS 10/27/09 RECAP RESULTS SHOW

On tonight's DWTS Results double elimination show country pop superstar, Taylor Swift was the special guest and sang her new song, "Jump Then Fall" and her hit, "Love Story".

The other musical guest, Tiempo Libre performed, "Tu Conga Bach"

The latest Dancing With the Stars contestants/couples to be voted or kicked off, eliminated and sent home were Melissa Joan Hart/Mark Ballas and after the dance off, Chelsea Hightower/ Louie Vito..

On SYTYCD performance show season premiere, the Top 20 dancers performed and it was announced that because of the New York Yankees vs. Philadelphia Phillies World Series Game there would be no results show tomorrow night 10/28/09, so the judges would eliminate and send home one girl and one guy.  Adam Shankman is now a permanent judge.  And it was also announced that top 20 finalist, Billy Bell withdrew because of illness and Noelle had an injured leg and was in the audience, but has to recuperate quickly or she would be cut next week.

Channing and Phillip were up first with a jive choreographed by Jason to the Michael Jackson song, "Rockin Robbin".  The judges found it to be lively, but wanted more leg action and chemistry.

Ashleigh and Jakob danced a sultry Broadway number to the song, "Hit Me With the Hot Note" from the Broadway musical, "Sophisticated Ladies" choreographed by Tyce Diorio.  What did the judges think?  They thought that they were excellent, but Ashleigh needed to finish her lines more.

Ariana and Peter performed a hip hop piece to "Black and Gold" song by Sam Sparro.  The judges commented that it was kind of sloppy. 

Russell and Noelle's substitute, their choreographer, Melanie did a foxtrot to Vic Damone's song, "Vagabound Shoes".  The judges stated that it was very good despite a few technical mistakes.

Bianca and Victor danced a contemporary routine by Travis Wall to the song, "Wasted Time" by Me'Shell Ndegeocello.  Good chemistry was the main positive critique by the judges.

Karen and Kevin performed the cha cha to Salt n Pepa's song, "Push It".  The judges adored Karen, but Kevin's foot action could be use some work.

Ellenore and Ryan performed a contemporary jazz routine by Sonya to song, "Arcadia" by Apparat.  The judges loved the crazy chemistry and the staying in character. 

Brandon and Pauline danced the Waltz to Whitney Houston's, "You Light Up My Life".  The judges loved their chemistry, but the technical side of the dance needed some work especially from Brandon.

Kathryn and Legacy did a hip hop routine to Missy Elliot's song, "On and On".  The judges were very impressed. 

Mollee and Nathan disco danced to Gloria Estefan's, "Turn the Beat Around".  And the judges enjoyed the upbeat number a lot. 

The four dancers in danger and needing to do a solo were Brandon, Ariana, Pauline and Russell.  Their solo songs were:

Ariana - Darkest Hour by Charlotte Martin.

Russell - Give the Drummer Sum by Black Milk.

Pauline - Magalenha by Sergio Mendes.

Brandon - Slow Dancing in a Burning Room by John Mayer.

The first So You Think You Can Dance girl/guy to be kicked off, eliminated and sent home were Brandon and Ariana.

Ariana's, (the girl's) goodbye song was The Fray's, "Never Say Never.

Not sure of Brandon's, (the guy's) goodbye song yet.

   

TV'S GLEE PREEMPTED 10/28/09

High school musical comedy drama, "Glee" is preempted tonight (10/28/09) due the first game of The World Series between the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies.

DANCING WITH THE STARS 10/26/09 RECAP PERFORMANCE SHOW

On tonight's DWTS, the competitors had to dance the waltz or the jitterbug and had to be participate in a dance marathon later.

Mya and Dmitry Chaplin started the night off with a lively jitterbug to the Stray Cats song, "C'mon Everybody". Len disliked the gimmick of dusting the judges' panel desk for too long a time, Bruno loved the timing and Carrie Ann thought it was slightly understated.  So, Mya's scores were Len (7), Bruno (9) and Carrie Ann (8).

Melissa Joan Hart and Mark Ballas danced a nice waltz to Celine Dion song, "Only One Road".  The judges thought it lacked fluidity and posture, but those were Bruno and Carrie Ann harsh remarks, Len found it to be elegant, despite some technical mistakes.  Melissa's scores were two sevens and a six from Bruno!  Ouch!

Mark Dacascos and Lacey Schwimmer did the jitterbug to the Brian Seltzer Orchestra's song, "This Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" to very playful results.  The judges loved their energetic performance despite the minor stumble at the end.  Mark's scores were two nines and an eight from Bruno.

Aaron Carter and Karina Smirnoff performed the waltz to the Commodores classic song, "Three Times a Lady" to pretty good results.  The judges loved his posture, but he did lose his footing occasionally.  Aaron's scores were two eights and a nine from Len.

Michael Irvin and Anna Demidova danced the waltz to the song, "I Wonder Why" by Curtis Stigers.  A surprisingly fine performance.  The judges were disappointed with his posture, his stumbles, a lift, but Len found it charming, said it had good footwork and he liked Michael's posture!  What mixed results!  Michael's scores were two sixes and an eight from Len.

Kelly Osbourne and Louis Van Amstel did a decent jitterbug to the song, "Bread and Butter" by the Newbeats.  The judges comments were that it was fun, but a little flatfooted and safe.  Kelly's scores were two sevens and a six from Len.

Louie Vito and Chelsea Hightower performed the jitterbug to the song, "Baby Likes To Rock It" by The Tractors to enjoyable results.  The judges liked the energy, but thought the technical side was lacking.  Louie's scores were a trio of sevens.

Joanna Krupa and Derek Hough danced the waltz to Norah Jones' song, "Be Here To Love Me" to lovely results.  But, what did the judges think?  They liked her lines, but her footwork was a little sloppy and Joanna showed some hesitation.  Joanna's scores were two nines and an eight from Carrie Ann.

Donny Osmond and Kym Johnson did an entertaining jitterbug to Choo Choo Ch'Boogie song by Louis Jordan.  The judges liked the crowdpleasing performance, but the timing was slightly off and there were a few uncharacteristic stumbles.  Donny's scores were all eights.

In the competition Mambo dance to a Latin song the marathon scoring went down like this:

Michael and Anna - 2 points.

Louie and Chelsea - 3 points.

Melissa and Mark - 4 points.

Kelly and Louis - 5 points.

Mark and Lacey  - 6points.

Donny and Kym - 7 points.

Aaron and Karina - 8 points.

Mya and Dmitry - 9 points.

Joanna and Derek with the most points with ten!
